The Shadow as Teacher

A poem about the wisdom found in darkness and the quiet clarity it brings.

A faint geometric outline of light framing deep shadows, creating a subtle, contemplative dark scene.
Sometimes the light is just a frame for the darkness. Sitting in the shadows, waiting for the dawn, and finding strength in the silence and stillness.

Darkness Is Not the Enemy

The first lesson taught is simply this: The darkness is not the enemy’s camp, but the ground upon which we must stand to truly measure the sun.

The Hour of Spinning Needles

It has a certain, quiet wisdom, the hour when the easy answers fail, and every compass needle spins its grief, before it settles on the true north.

The Stillness That Shapes Us

We call this time confusion, loss, or strain, a gap in the calendar of bright days, but the shadow is only holding still so we might finally see the shape of what we are supposed to be.

The Teacher of Silence

The teacher here is strict and unhurried; it asks for all the volume turned to zero, until the self becomes a perfect echo and finally, at last, learns clarity. For how would you know the shape of the light if you hadn't traced its border first?
