Up and About Before Six: A Morning Ritual of Rest, Roots, and Intentional Living
Up and About Before Six
While the morning quietly unfolds,
I set a pace that only stillness knows.
A breath of prayer, warm water to cleanse,
Before the busy world outside begins.
Feet to the pavement, walking the beat,
Drinking warmth in the morning street.
Custard lollies bagged with care—
A cool sweetness waiting to share.
Then to my plants, one leaf at a time,
A cool drink for theirs, a soft light for mine.
I speak my truth out loud and clear,
Welcoming all that belongs to me here.
Before the clock can strike the six,
My peace is set, my spirit fixed.
