Two Rhythms, One Afternoon

Two Rhythms, One Afternoon

A view from a porch looking across the street at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux-Fort, St. Lucia. Two large white event tents are set up behind metal barricades, with a banner displaying Vieux-Fort Carnival text. A large colorful sports mural is visible on the upper level of the building facade behind the tents, partially framed by green foliage in the foreground.

White canvas tops catch the Vieux-Fort breeze, changing the landscape of the grounds just beyond my gate. The barricades are set, the banner is raised, and the anticipation is a tangible thing vibrating through the warm air. The street is officially prepping for the march.

A gentle note from the Nook & Sanctuary.

🌸 A Gentle Note from the Nook & Sanctuary

This space is still yours.

For the half-written verses.

For the truths you’re still learning to speak.

For the ache that hasn’t found its name yet.

A close-up shot of a hand wearing a cream-colored knitted sweater resting gently on a closed, plain brown leather-bound book on a polished wooden side table. In the blurred background is a cozy, plaid armchair and a lamp providing soft, warm light.
A moment of stillness before the pen starts moving, or after the last word is written. This is where ideas find rest and inspiration takes root. Every pause is just as important as the effort. 🤎

We’re unfolding something new—slowly, intentionally.

A softer rhythm. A deeper breath.

More prompts, more poems, more places to land.
